Tank needs help

Tank has worked for police departments around the country.  He has put many people away and worked very hard to help make life better for us humans.  His slobber has comforted lost kids and brought runaways home.  He has always worked for free and so has his handler.  However, recently Tank injured his back and required an $8,000 surgery (which pet insurance barely helped with) and we found it necessary to reach out to the public, whom Tank had so faithfully served, for help.
As you can see to the right, we have raised a great deal of money towards our goal of $4,000.  Inspired by people's generosity, we've decided to continue fundraising to help other bloodhound handlers across the country who face similar situations.  If you would like to help support Tank as well as many other police and volunteer police hounds, please click on the Donate button!

Update:  Tank has had his surgery and is doing great (too good actually because he needs to keep still and doesn't want to!).  We didn't raise all the money we needed, but it was enough to pay for most of the surgery (with some help from a credit card-we just couldn't see letting this dog die simply because surgery was so expensive when he worked so hard to help people).  You can see the huge scar and the gazillion staples that are in his back in the pic below as well as the sling that we have to hold him up with (which isn't easy with a massive hound).

Phase 2 is the physical rehabilitation he has to go through.  If you're still interested in donating, even though Tank has gone through surgery, any help would still be very welcome.  Tank was prescribed five different medications and will soon be visiting his doctor again to go through physical rehabilitation to help strengthen his back and get working again.  This of course means more money!  Thank you so much for all the support and the kind letters we've received.  It's greatly appreciated!

Our best bloodhound, Tank, is in need of major surgery.  He has ruptured three of his discs in his spine, working in the in the line of duty.  Tank has put hundreds of bad guys in prison and found lots of missing kids.  The surgery and treatment is $8,000-insurance will hopefully pay half, leaving us with $4,000 more to come up with.  Please help Tank by donating.

Tank has done so much work for so many people.  He has found murderers and rapists.  He has found burglars and arsonists.  Imagine if your grandmother was brutally raped.  Wouldn't you want that person brought to justice?  Tank has done that.  What if your child was kidnapped?  Wouldn't you want him or her found?  Tank has done that.  Tank has sacrificed his life to help others.  Sacrifice one meal eating out, a coffee, a movie or some other little meaningless thing to help this dog live.  What if one day you need Tank and he's no longer there?
